When did you first find your passion for makeup?
I think it was 4 or 5 years ago, I was watching DIY videos on how to make stuff on YouTube and that kind of led into me finding a DIY video on how to make foundation. I watched it and began to look more into the makeup spectrum on YouTube, and I literally became obsessed with it. There’s so many different things out there now, it’s different than how it used to be. Today a lot more people have been noticed.
Which person were you first inspired by?
It was such a long time ago, I wish I remembered. I think I started with watching makeup tutorials of women on YouTube. That led me to watching Manny MUA, Nikkie Tutorials, Laura Lee, people like that. I would also watch some beginner stuff to get the basics of makeup down.
How much time do you usually spend on your makeup routine?
I usually give myself two hours, which is enough time to settle down, watch Netflix, plug my phone into the charger, and just do my makeup and sit there.
And what kind of makeup is that for, everyday or going out?
To be honest with you, it’s for everyday. I’m not going to lie, I probably do the same amount of makeup for everyday and going out looks. It’s just one of the things I do I guess.
So you just pop on Netflix and doing your makeup is a fun, relaxing thing for you?
100% Yes. Netflix & Makeup.
What are some makeup products you swear by?
If I had to do just a couple things on my face it would be eyebrows, mascara and different tones of concealer, because you can bronze and highlight with them. So for those three things… it’s so hard to choose… I think for eyebrows I would choose Benefit Give Me Brow, because it’s a little spoolie brush along with color. For mascara, I’d go with the MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash. And for concealer, I would do MAC Pro Longwear, or Tarte Shape Tape.
What made you want to start vlogging?
I think because I learned how to do makeup off of YouTube, I also wanted to inspire people. I want that to be the way people feel after they watch my videos. So I got into vlogging to show people my way of doing makeup. After I learn new ways to do makeup, and adapt to them, I share them. I also think it’s important since I’m a boy wearing makeup. I want to show that makeup is for everyone. I really want to get that message across.
Who are your favorite beauty influencers?
I think it’d be Nikkie Tutorials, Jeffree Star and Manny MUA. Also Laura Lee, Gabriel Zamora and Nikita Dragun.
How do you feel when you see your fans recreating the looks you put on youtube?
I absolutely love it. It’s like one of my favorite things. That’s what I used to do, with other gurus. So it’s wonderful when people do it with me.
How do you want people to feel after they watch your videos?
I want them to feel inspired, and that they can do whatever. Also, how they can do makeup no matter who they are, what gender, race, they can do whatever they want with makeup and just explore the world with it.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a recording artist. Red carpet and glamour. I want to have a huge makeup range. That’s kind of like the end goal almost for me. I wanna have a big future outreach. I want to inspire everyone. That’s like the main thing I’ve always wanted to do.
