Support These Brands That Support The LGBTQ+ Community
Yasss Queen, it’s officially pride month! Cities around the world hold pride parades throughout the month of June to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Beauty is for EVERYONE, so in honor of pride month, we decided to highlight some makeup brands that also support the LGBTQ+ community. Here are just a few…
This awesome unisex brand was created by makeup artist Jessica Blackler. She had the amazing vision to make her products able to empower all wearers “to stand out and be confident in their unique selves.” Jecca’s first product is a “Correct and Conceal” color corrector that’s formulated to effortlessly cover beard shadow, birthmarks and acne. JECCA Makeup is truly unbelievable, and is breaking down barriers showing that #MakeupHasNoGender.
Gloria Noto created this gender-fluid makeup brand to spark a positive change in a concept she believed needed growth: beauty standards. Noto created Agender Oil, that everyone can use to soften and protect their hair. 100% of these oil sales go towards organizations that focus on social or environmental causes such as the LGBT Youth Center and Planned Parenthood. The all natural, gender fluid, multi-use brand is “calling for a conscious effort toward transparency and mindfulness in how beauty is cultivated and it’s expression.” Brands like this one simply make the world a better place!
Fluide’s main motive is to have makeup that is suitable for all gender expressions, identities, and skin tones. They put emphasis on equality and how “beauty is malleable, political, powerful play. We are they. We are them. We are you.” Fluide wants to express how makeup is a tool of transformation as well as a means of self-actualization. They also donate 5% of all proceeds to organizations that support health and legal rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Milk just launched a glitter collection for Pride Month, and we are obsessed! The brand teamed up with the LGBT Community Center in the West Village to develop these beautiful products that will benefit the organization altogether. Milk’s founder, Georgie Greville, says they specifically decided on creating glitter products because “we are all unique specks of glitter that make up an ever-vibrant spectrum of individuality. Within that vast spectrum of differences, it’s so important to recognize that equality is for everyone.” A Pride Pack was even launched that includes the silvery Glitter Lip Gloss in Techno, along with a black Equality Tattoo Stamp! For every sale of its $28 limited-edition pride pack or $30 glitter highlighter stick in June, half of the proceeds will go to The LGBT Community Center. Snaps all around for Milk Makeup! Bonus: Milk Makeup products are now 100% vegan!
This popping nail company has teamed up with Albanian singer Era Istrefi to release a limited-edition Pride collection. There are eight different, shimmery nail polishes that come in every color of the rainbow, including an extra glitter color! Each polish for under $2! Pop some of Sinful Color’s polishes onto your nails, and look fire for Pride month!
