You Won’t Believe These Crazy Beauty Hacks Actually Work
Cleaning a Beauty Blender in the Microwave
This hack blew up on Twitter this week and as crazy as it sounds, it actually works! As most of us know, cleaning a makeup-soaked Beauty Blender can be a difficult task. Luckily, putting the sponge in a cup of soapy water and microwaving it for a minute allows you to easily squeeze it clean. Not to mention, the before and after pictures of this hack are wonderfully satisfying.
Warning: Do NOT put your Beauty Blender directly in your microwave! If you don’t have it in a cup of soapy water, you might end up with a disaster like @VTT_torii… yikes!
Dry Shaving Your Face for Flawless Foundation
Beauty guru, and guest judge on American Beauty Star Season 1, Huda Kattan taught us that shaving your face isn’t just for men! Turns out that the trick to having perfectly applied foundation is shaving away facial hair and peach fuzz with a straight razor. Huda also explained that it’s a great way to exfoliate and helps improve dark spots and other signs of aging.
Before you freak out, shaving does not actually make your hair grow back thicker and stronger. We do not recommend shaving your face if you don’t plan on continuing to do so and keep in mind that you need to use a straight razor on a DRY face, no shaving cream or water needed! That being said, this hack seriously gives your makeup a flawlessly smooth finish that will have people wondering how you look photoshop-perfect IRL.
Putting Eyeliner on Your Lash Curler
This is one of our favorite beauty hacks because not only does it help you get perfect eyeliner, it’s also a great time saver! It’s simple too! Just draw a thin line along the upper edge of your eyelash curler so that when you curl your lashes, the liner is stamped right onto your lid! Of course, make sure your placement is precise and you get as close as possible to your lash line. This hack is perfect for those mornings when you’re rushing to get your makeup on.
Use a Spoolie to Transform Cheap False Lashes
We absolutely LOVE this money-saving hack! It pains us to spend so much money on expensive false eyelashes when we know we’re only going to use them once. Luckily, makeup artist Paloma Garcia showed us how to transform cheap falsies into convincing dupes for wispy, mink lashes. All you need to do is comb through synthetic lashes with a clean spoolie brush and voilà- perfect faux mink falsies!
