This NYC born and raised Fashion Expert attended Vassar College before starting her first job at Elle Magazine. Soon after, she applied for a position at Vogue and got it. Brown acted as the Beauty Director at Vogue for 14 years, informing legions of devoted followers on beauty musts. She left the magazine June ‘16 to launch her own company, the Sarah Brown Advisory, but continues to write for Vogue. She advises in Beauty, Lifestyle and Fashion, and is a dynamite judge with unparalleled knowledge.

Russell James

For 20 years, Russell James produced provocative, unique photography that permeated the beauty, fashion, and entertainment worlds. He is renowned for shooting many Vogue covers internationally, as well as other leading publications that include: W, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, American Photo, French Photo, and Sports Illustrated. Russell drew inspiration from his homeland in Western Australia and developed a cutting edge style in London, Paris, Tokyo, Stockholm and Milan. From 1987 to 1996, fashion and extreme location was his trademark. Russell’s love for the environment, social activism, and dramatic architecture is reflected Known for his love of the environment, social activism, and dramatic architecture, James is often found shooting in locations ranging from the shores of the Caribbean beaches, to the outback of Australia, to the ice flows of the Arctic Circle to the more civilized realm of designer homes and studios in the major cities of New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris.

Christie Brinkley

Supermodel Christie Brinkley has appeared on more than 500 magazine covers worldwide. Christie is also an actress and entrepreneur.  Combining her modeling experience with her artistic talents and diverse interests, Christie’s legendary career has been extraordinary and well respected.  She has been photographed in six continents and more than 30 countries around the world.  A model for over thirty years, and 45 years in the beauty industry, Christie was discovered by a photographer while studying art in Paris, France.  Since then, she has become the first model to ever appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated for three consecutive years, with a fourth Special Issue multi-covers, and appeared in the publication’s annual swimsuit issues and television specials for years to follow including, Sports Illustrated 50th Anniversary Issue and NBC Television Special where she won a Top 5 of all time Covers award #4.

Now, Christie brings her charm, wit and poignant commentary to American Beauty Star as a judge on Season 2.

 

Yu Tsai

American Beauty Star judge Yu Tsai is an internationally renowned celebrity and fashion photographer. His inspirations are a compilation of his studies and his extensive travels to Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. After changing direction from his scientific studies, Yu Tsai earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA where he discovered his passion for directing and design.

Yu has shot for iconic international brands such as Apple, Guess, Coca-Cola, Emporio Armani, Victoria’s Secret, and continues to work with his clients such as Guess, Sports Illustrated, FreeSoul, Pantene and Hickey Freeman. He continues to shoot in the editorials arena; creating covers and stories with International magazines such as Harpers Bazaar Singapore, Vogue Thailand, Harpers Bazaar UK, Cosmopolitan US, Flaunt Magazine and Sports Illustrated. His celebrity clients include everyone from Leonardo Dicaprio to Katy Perry, Alicia Keys and Anne Hathaway.

In this season of American Beauty Star, he will bring his photographer’s eye for detail and biting critiques to the judging panel.

Leah Wyar

American Beauty Star judge Leah Wyar is the Chief Beauty Director of Hearst Magazines, where she oversees the 150 monthly beauty pages of Cosmopolitan; ELLE; Good Housekeeping; Harper’s Bazaar; Marie Claire; O, The Oprah Magazine; Prevention; Redbook; Seventeen; Town & Country; Woman’s Day; and Women’s Health. She is additionally responsible for all corporate beauty and branded content innovations, including My Beauty Chat—a voice-first beauty brand on Amazon Alexa—and the Hearst Beauty Reports, which run across multiple magazines.

Prior to being named Chief Beauty Director, Leah served as Executive Beauty Director of Hearst Magazines’ flagship Cosmopolitan, the world’s largest young women’s media brand. She has also held roles as a beauty editor at Fitness and SELF.

As a veteran industry expert, Leah has appeared on CNN, The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, Kathie Lee & Hoda, Live with Kelly & Ryan, and The Talk. In 2017, she starred in So Cosmo, a docu-series on E! that followed the lives of eight Cosmopolitan staffers.

With a unique perspective and knowledge of all things beauty, Leah brings her years of expertise to the American Beauty Star Judging panel.
