When we heard that Lady Gaga was hosting the 2019 Met Gala, we knew she would be one of the best dressed of fashion’s biggest night. As one of the first to hit the pink carpet, Lady Gaga opened the gala with a GAG of a performance! Channeling Little Bo Peep in a hot pink Brandon Maxwell number, we must admit that we were slightly underwhelmed. Unbeknownst to us, we were about to embark on what will surely go down as one of the most memorable red carpet appearances in history!

With a few tuxedo clad men and women carrying black umbrellas in tow, Lady Gaga paraded her dramatic look in true Gaga fashion. Campy eyelashes, wavy platinum blonde hair, and a pop of pink on her lips were just what her look needed to embody this year’s outlandish theme. After getting her looks in, she returned to the foot of the stairs where the designer, Brandon Maxwell, unzipped her gown to reveal a scaled-back black gown with a left hip as exaggerated as her entire performance. Again, she made her rounds up and down the stairs, entourage en tow.

For the third time, she stripped down to an even simpler hot pink dress that gave us rich Malibu Barbie bish realness, no less. With an 80s long-range brick phone in hand, Lady Gaga was likely calling all of the other attendees to tell them don’t even bother coming anymore since she already shut ish down. In true Lady Gaga fashion, her performance was exaggerated, fun, and reminiscent of her Paparazzi and Telephone days.

In her final act, Lady Gaga stripped down to an all black, lingerie-esque look, paired with fishnets and sky high boots that will twist your ankles just by looking at them. Pulling a wagon behind her that donned the words Haus of Gaga, she showed us that this year, we can expect the unexpected… and more for this year’s 2019 Met Gala.
