Adriana Lima Inspired Makeup Look
Adriana Lima is one of the most iconic Victoria’s Secret angels that has ever walked the VS runway. She’s known for her heavenly long legs, glowing, sun-kissed skin, and voluminous loose waves. Her makeup is always brought to perfection with a flawless combination of ‘natural’ and ‘glamorous’ that includes her flushed complexion, glossy lips, winged eyeliner and a hint of a smokey eye. It’s the most angelic and effortless look that never feels overdone.
In this post, I’m going to walk you step by step on how to achieve her signature sultry bronzy look.
Step 1. Moisturize and Prime
Since a dewy glowing skin is the key to this look, start with a clean moisturized face and apply an illuminating face primer. I used MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream in Silverlite to instantly moisturize and illuminate my skin and create this beautiful ‘lit from within’ look.
Step 2: Apply Foundation
Follow with a dewy foundation to even out the skin tone but still keeping the skin fresh and natural. I applied Maybelline’s Fit Me Dewy Foundation that has a sheer luminous finish and I buffed it into the skin with a foundation brush.
Step 3: Fill in your Brows
For a natural and full brow look, I used Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil and I gently defined my eyebrows, filling them in.
Step 4: Apply Champagne-Colored Cream Eye Shadow
For my eyes, I started with Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerize cream eyeshadow in color Jean. It has a gorgeous sparkling champagne color that many of the Angels rock on their eyes. Using a blending brush, I washed the color backwards and forwards across the entire lid.
Step 5: Blend Darker Shade Along the Lash Line and in the Crease
Take a warm bronze eye shadow (I used the smoke shade from Charlotte Tilbury’s Golden Goddess Palette) and run it along the entire lash line to create a smoldering look and then take it up to the socket and onto your lower eyelids using a smudging brush. Then, gently start blending the eye shadow into the crease, working it backwards and forwards with a fluffy brush. Next, take a darker bronze eye shadow and blend it only it in the outer V corner of the eye to add more dimension. I used MAC’s matte eye shadow in Swiss Chocolate.
Step 6: Create a Winged Eye Liner
Apply a pencil eyeliner along the lash line and lift it up at the outer corner to create a wing. Opt for a brown eyeliner pencil instead of a harsh black, which feels more sexy and sultry. I’m loving Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock ‘n’ Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in color Barbarella Brown.
Step 7: Mascara, Mascara, Mascara…
Add a lot of drama to the lashes by applying voluminous mascara and following with a few individual lashes (I used Butter London’s Double Decker mascara).
Step 8: Apply Concealer + Translucent Powder
Apply a little bit of concealer underneath the eyes, along the bridge of the nose and in the middle part of the forehead to hide any redness and highlight the key features of your face. Follow with a translucent powder (like the one from Laura Mercier). For a semi-matte finish, lightly dab the powder around the T-zone with a big, fluffy brush to avoid shine but omit the outer layers of the face to keep the dewiness of the skin.
Step 9: Finish Off the Face
Warm up your complexion with a golden bronzer (I used MAC Cosmetics Bronzing Powder in Biana Bronze) and apply it at the hollows of the cheeks and around the outer edges of your forehead. Next apply a peachy pink blush across your cheekbones. For a pop of highlight, I applied MAC Cosmetics Mineralize.
Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle on the highest point of my cheekbones, on the cupid’s bow and down the bridge of my nose.
Step 10: Create Angel-Luscious Lips
Line the lips with Charlotte’s Tillbury’s Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk and follow with MAC’s Pure Zen Cremesheen lipstick. To amp up the lips game and create tons of shine, apply a nude pink shimmery gloss.
The final result? A beautiful and smoldering golden goddess look that accentuates all of your best features without being too overwhelming.
