The beauty evolution of Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle’s Royal Beauty Evolution

Meghan Markle Went from Hollywood to Windsor Real Quick

Meghan Markle probably never dreamed of becoming a real life princess, but it happened for her anyway, seemingly overnight. Just in case you haven’t been following her story with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle will wed the British prince on May 19th at Windsor Castle in England. Before she got engaged to a member of the royal family, Meghan was a regular Hollywood actress playing the role of Rachel, a paralegal on the popular legal drama, “Suits“. There’s no denying Meghan’s beauty; at 36 she gives young 20 somethings a dash for their money! That’s why her beauty evolution seems so effortless. To celebrate her upcoming nuptials, we thought we would recap her beauty and style evolution over the years.

2006

Back in 2006, Meghan made her TV debut as a briefcase girl on the game show “Deal or No Deal“. She rocked the same cinammon colored tresses and wavy hair that we love on her. Her makeup was still as fresh faced as ever – approachable, cute, and timeless.

2007

In 2007, Meghan Markle arrived at the Primary Action Golden Globe Suite wearing a simple black and white dress. While we won’t necessarily take style cues from her with this number, we can point out that the bow was a lovely detail. As always, she let her natural beauty shine and wore a makeup no makeup look.

2009

Who knew that Meghan was a bit of a ginger?! In 2009, she scaled back her makeup even more and revealed the cutest freckles that we rarely saw on her! Perhaps she was fresh from vacation in a sunny place, because her tan was perfect! Her subtle pink blush and a swipe of lip balm gave her a very laid back, dewy look.

2010

In 2010, Meghan Markle ditched the wavy hair and opted for a straightened ‘do, part down the middle. Another noticeable change with her hair was the low lights that shimmered under light. If you remember 2010 at all, that was around the time that people experimented with under-eye concealer that gave you a bright set. Well, Meghan took this trend for a spin and looked great while doing it! Her freckles peeped through underneath her makeup, which means she likely wore a minimal coverage foundation or none at all. Finally, she kept her cheeks and lips pink per her regular makeup look.

2011

In 2011 Meghan landed the role of Rachel Zane on the USA show, “Suits“. Her character is a paralegal who eventually becomes an attorney, and that sophistication is reflected in her style while on the show. Meghan rocked a lot of skirts, knits, and classy blowouts during her time on the show. Not only was this her look on the show, she embodied it off camera as well.

2012

Meghan turned up the heat in 2012 at the Producer’s Ball in a hot pink bodycon dress. Around this time her hair had grown a bit and she went from wavy hair to loose curls at the ends. She stayed true to the makeup look that works for her by lining her under eyes and wearing concealer to make them pop.

2013

Meghan Markle turned grunged it up in 2013. She attended a New York Fashion Week show wearing this flirty little black dress. She wore her hair with loose curls and piled on the black eyeliner and mascara for an edgy look.

2014

Now here’s a look that we didn’t see much of with Meghan! During a Miu Miu event, she wore her hair in a low braided ponytail tossed over her left shoulder. That’s not the most interesting part, however. What’s most interesting is her foray into colored eye shadow! Up to then, we only saw Meghan Markle in barely there makeup looks; so this teal eye shadow was, dare we say, daring! Not only was her makeup fun but so was her outfit! Can’t say we expect her to revisit this kind of vibe once she’s married, but it was fun while it lasted.

2016

We love a good red lip! Meghan Markle gave us major red lip inspo when she attended this “Suits” event in New York City. Meghan’s black skinny trousers, black blazer, and pop of color on the lips might be what caught Prince Harry’s attention, maybe. It’s around this time that rumors first swirled about their romance.  In any event, her skin was so gorgeous that we thought she was airbrushed!

2017

Meghan and Prince Harry made their first public appearance together in 2017 at the Invictus Games in Toronto. Although this was their first appearance together, they had to sit 18 seats apart due to royal protocol. Meghan looked elegant in a monochromatic burgundy outfit with loose curls in her hair. Her makeup was quite simple with nude lipstick and her signature black under eyeliner.

Later in 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially announced their engagement. They took beautiful engagement photos in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace. Meghan was absolutely stunning in her sheer embroidered dress. Her hair was voluminous, long, and smooth. She played up her minimal makeup look by sticking with strong brows, black under eyeliner, rosy cheeks, and nude lips.

2018

And finally, we have Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in 2018. They attended a memorial service together and were actually allowed to sit next to each other! Meghan had a gorgeous pre-marriage glow about her and we love that low bun with few face-framing tresses hanging down. It looks like part of being a member of the royal family means that you can’t try crazy makeup looks, as Meghan always seems to go with a subtle look.
